Wording for Wedding Reception Invitations
Modern, Cool, Chic or Classic?
Find modern and classic wording for wedding reception invitations and save money by making your own invites.
If you're planning to make your own invites (after all wedding invitations are one of the EASIEST ways to save money on your wedding budget), then you may well be wondering what wording to use on the actual wedding ceremony invitations or additional separate evening reception invitations.
While many people like to stick to tradition and use formal language, modern brides can happily put their own tone of voice into their invitations and have a little fun in the process.
Wedding Invitations DIY
Regardless of the actual wording used, there are some essential pieces of information that your invites must contain. Here's a checklist:
The name(s) of the people hosting the reception, either the bride's parents, the groom's parents, both sets of parents (if sharing the cost of the wedding for example) or the actual couple (if you and your groom are paying for the whole thing).
The day, date and time of the wedding and, importantly, the YEAR. It's a good idea to spell out the year and time rather than just use numbers- Why? Because many weddings are planned over 12 months in advance so you want to make sure your guests turn up in the right decade!
The venue for both the actual ceremony and the reception afterwards.
The address of the venues; include a map with the invitations to make sure no-one gets lost!
Space on the invite to write the name(s) of the recipient.
