Centerpieces can often break your wedding flower budget. Here's why:

  • Florists use reception centerpieces as a means of showing off their creative design talents.

  • There is a huge range of accessories to jazz up your table decorations. Centerpieces have become more and more extravagant as brides try to impress their guests and they are an easy target for florists looking to increase their profit margin.

  • A big wedding with lots of guests means lots of tables and therefore lots of centerpieces. That equals more expense!

But wedding table centerpieces do not have to break the bank.

Nor do they have to look cheap just because they are cheap!

Inexpensive Centerpieces

Fresh flowers are expensive so think about alternatives like candles, feathers or herbs in a jar.

Pop along to your local hardware or bargain store and see what you can find to put dried flowers/herbs etc into. Let your imagination run wild.

Colored bags look great tied with ribbon - pop a couple of cheap flowers inside or better still, go see what you can find in your garden or at the side of the road for free.

Fresh herbs are a great aromatic alternative to expensive wedding table centerpieces. Bundle some together and pop inside a ceramic pot instead.

Place some pine cones on a shimmering glass plate and hey presto...

Add a simple flower or scatter some petals or rosemary sprigs around your pine cones and your tables will look gorgeous. Then pop a candle in a small glass jar in the center of the pine cones for the evening celebrations.

Simple, stunning and oh so cheap!
