A very expensive item to buy for weddings are the flowers. You will save a lot if the wedding party pays for their own flowers.

Another way to save money is to make your own center pieces. A great idea is to buy vases or candle holders from a dollar store and fill them with coloured water or flour petals and maybe even floating candles.

Great tips Rai. And with great prices available online for wholesale wedding flowers, making your own centerpieces or even your own bouquet can be within every bride's budget.

I was lucky as for my wedding, a close friend of my husband's mum, offered to do all the church flowers, my brial bouquet and my bridesmaid's bouquet for me. Oh and the buttonholes too.

She was an experienced flower arranger and ordered her flowers from a local fresh flower supplier she regularly used. You can of course, get great prices nowadays by ordering online as mentioned above.

I think I would personally have been too scared to do my own bouquet, if no other reason, I'm pretty useless with practical things like sewing and craft-type activities. That said, I'm getting good at creative gardening 10 years on, but maybe that's an age thing !
