Homemade Wedding Favors
are easy when you know how!
How to make cheap easy homemade wedding favors

Making wedding favors at home is a great way to save money when planning your big day.
It's also a great way to get really good matching items to tie all your wedding details together.
You can, for example, use the same thread used to bind your wedding invitations on your favors. The picture above
shows a cool pink metallic thread that I used to tie my invitations and orders of service together.
How to Make Wedding Favors
-
To make a cheap wedding favor like the one shown above, first get a piece of A4 paper and a bowl.
Draw a circle using the bowl then turn the bowl upside down and draw a larger circle around the first one.
-
You now have a paper template. Check the size. Will it be big enough for your chosen favor which should fit
comfortably into the smaller of the two circles? (I used a Belgian chocolate for instance).

-
Next take the fabric you will wrap your favor in and pin the paper template to the fabric in several places.
Don't draw on your fabric especially if using a light material.
-
Cut your fabric as neatly as possible using the template as a guide. You don't need to be 100% accurate.
-
Wrap your wedding favor in foil (if using chocolate) or any something else suitable and place it inside your
fabric circle.
-
Gather the edges of the circle together and tie in place with your chosen thread or string.
-
sugared almonds - very traditional and they don't melt!
yoyos - fun and games at the reception
a tiny stuffed toy
heart shaped cookie cutters
mini bottle openers
a heart shaped keyring
chilli seeds - for chilli heads!
Simply vary the size and shape of your favor "packaging" to suit what goes inside.
You can of course buy specially made wedding favor boxes...but these come at a price.
