Colored Wedding Dresses
Break with Tradition!

There is a huge trend right now for colored wedding dresses.
This gorgeous blue wedding gown from
Alison Blake is just one example of how fabulous an alternative shade can look.
Of course blue is not your only color choice.
Why wear a colored dress on your wedding day?
-
Many brides do not suit white or ivory. They may have olive colored skin or a very
pale complexion and will just not look right in traditional white.
-
For a second marriage, white may not be appropriate so pink wedding dresses are very popular
and in a pale shade can be similar to ivory.
-
Modern brides often want to add their special mark to the day and wear whatever they feel
good in. That often means wearing a favorite color which is why you now see brides walking down
the aisle in blue, red, pink and even black.
-
Yes black is also very fashionable right now and not just for gothic queens. If Sarah
Jessica Parker can get married in a black wedding dress then why not?
Last but by no means least, a colored gown is usually CHEAPER! You can buy a dress from ball gown
or evening wear retailers or just pick your favorite little LBD (little back dress) from
your favorite bargain fashion store.
More Reasons to Ditch Traditional White
Acessories will be cheaper as you will have far more choice in all kinds of stores.
Shoes, for example, are often very expensive if you try to match an ivory dress
exactly. Another reason why black is becoming more popular as half of all shoe ranges are available in black.
Coloured dresses are more practical as stains don't show as easily
and, if you are looking for a budget wedding dress, they are available in a greater range of cheaper fabrics.
Wearing a color you love as opposed to white that most women only wear in high summer, will make
many brides far more comfortable on their wedding day.
You could also wear a traditional costume just as Indian traditions dictate
where the bride wears an array of colorful layers.
