it around a rhyming limerick to start with if experiencing writers block!

When sending out invitations, ask guests to compose a wedding shower verse to accompany their
gift to the bride.
Some shower guests will be natural born poets whilst others will be terrified at having to put
pen to paper! There's no obligation but a few poems will help break the ice and give opportunity for strangers
to get to know one another at the party.
The mother of the bride can use a verse as an alternative to giving a speech and it's much easier
to read a poem from a lovingly prepared sheet than ad lib a wedding speech!
It's a great way to tell a bride about some of the more important aspects of being married whilst
also revelling in the excitement and happiness of such an occasion.
A personal favorite wedding shower poem is this one taken from the novel Captain Corelli's Mandolin - my husband's brother read it at the church on our wedding day and it brought tears to my eyes as it's so beautiful:
